Photography has been my passion since I was a young girl, but life had other plans of marriage and children, so my life as a full time
artist began at the age of forty. I went to the local community college to learn how to use a professional camera and how to incorporate
alternative photography processes. From the fist time I stepped into a dark room, I knew from that point on, art would be my life.
The idea that you can capture a moment in time, no matter the subject, and watch it manifest into its own personality, has always fascinated
me.
Now, years later, my passion for photography is still my first love, but I have incorporated painting and digital manipulation into the mix
composing unique contemporary imagery. These three mediums allow me to create a variety of processes throughout my artwork.
Enhancing an image, with paints and/or computer technology allows me to control and develop images creating a testimonial to that time
and space. They become the synthesis of my unique personal point of view of life.
Born in Landstuhl, Germany, I spent most of my childhood traveling around Europe and the United States, as my father was a career military
man. This multicultural experience is reflected in my work.
I am deeply committed to documenting life capturing the tension between the static and the motion, seeking the AHA! Moment --
creating a visual haiku.
